Begin with a wide view of the whole load
A close-up can show what an item looks like without showing how much there is. Start with a photo taken far enough back to include the entire pile or room. If the job covers several spaces, photograph each one separately.
Tell us about material behind the first row, inside a storage unit, or in another part of the yard. An estimate based on one sofa should not turn into a garage cleanout without another conversation.
For a house cleanout, a simple room list helps: living room furniture, two bedroom items, boxes in the garage, and a pile outside. The list does not need perfect measurements. It needs to make the scope understandable.

Add details for heavy, large, or attached items
Send a closer photo of anything that changes the handling. A sleeper sofa, adjustable bed base, large freezer, or thick piece of concrete can be much heavier than it looks from across the room.
For furniture removal, include approximate dimensions and whether the item separates into sections. For appliances, tell us the connection status. For a shed, fence, deck, or hot tub, show the setup and explain what is still attached.
Describe the material too. A load of branches is different from a load of construction lumber, and bagged trash should not hide unidentified chemicals or electronics. It is better to ask about an uncertain item before the appointment than to assume it can be taken.
Photograph the route out
The work does not end at the edge of the pile. Include the doorway, stairs, side gate, and the place where the trailer could stop. Tell us if the carry is long or if access is shared with other people.
For an apartment or business, mention an elevator, loading reservation, gate code, or on-site contact. For a storage facility, include the unit location and access hours. These details help us review the labor as well as the load.
You do not have to move the items to the curb to request an estimate. Explain their current location and let us discuss what preparation is useful.

Finish with your city and timing
Tell us where the job is and whether there is a deadline. A new appliance delivery, move-out date, or next phase of a remodel can affect the schedule. If you need an urgent pickup, call and ask about availability rather than assuming a text message confirms an appointment.
A useful first message might say: “I’m in Rohnert Park. There’s a three-piece sectional downstairs and about ten boxes in the garage. The driveway will be clear. I’d like them removed before Friday.” Add the photos and any details that make your situation different.
