Once a water heater has been replaced, the old tank still needs to leave the property. We provide water heater haul-away in Santa Rosa and Sonoma County with the tank’s size, condition, and location reviewed before pickup.
The tank needs to be ready for transport
Tell us whether the water heater is already removed, disconnected, and drained. An installed tank involves plumbing, fuel, and electrical considerations that should be handled as part of the appropriate replacement work. Haul-away does not include a new installation.
Send a photo showing the entire tank and its location. If the unit is on a raised platform or inside a small closet, include that view too. Other old appliances can be discussed through our appliance removal service.
- Old tank-style water heaters
- Prepared units from replacement projects
- Loose related metal identified in the estimate
- Other appliances added to the same request

Coordinate pickup with the replacement work
Ask the installer where the old unit will be left and whether their work includes hauling it away. If it will remain on site, share that location with us. A prepared tank beside a garage and an installed tank upstairs are very different requests.
Keep a clear route to the tank and tell us about remaining water, corrosion, or other handling concerns. We’ll confirm the agreed work before the crew begins.

Provide its approximate capacity or dimensions and a clear photo.
